Referees having a rough time of it
Time-Out 1: "How he added only one minute is beyond me. Sure you get a minute for picking your nose these days" -- Joe Dooley (Offaly hurling manager)
Time-Out 2: "There were three minutes given here but there were possibly four or five in it. It's something I'd like the GAA to look into; maybe have an independent (timekeeper) so the referee can get on with his job" -- Kevin Walsh (Sligo football manager)
Yet more complaints over the amount of stoppage time added at the end of games. It should be straightforward so why does it continue to be an issue?
Walsh's suggestion about an independent timekeeper makes sense but don't expect it at a pitch near you any time soon.
