O'Neill's goal turns tide as Tyrone power home

Tyrone turned on the power in the final quarter as they came from behind for a convincing win in the Dr McKenna Cup at Healy Park.

Queen's trailed by three points at the break after failing to convert three golden goal chances.

Tyrone went 0-4 to 0-2 up, thanks to neat scores from debutant Johnny Lafferty .

The lively Donal O'Hare hit the target twice for Queen's, and Mark Sweeney's point narrowed the gap to one. But Tommy McGuigan and Martin Penrose gave the Red Hands a 0-6 to 0-3 interval lead.

Queen's did get in for a goal early in the second half when O'Hare sent Caolan Rafferty in for a cool finish, and went ahead through Sean Warnock.

But the home side stepped up the tempo in the final quarter. Teenage sub Ronan O'Neill's 51st-minute goal was followed by a string of points from Peter Harte, Aidan Cassidy, Niall McKenna and Colm Cavanagh as Tyrone pulled away.
