Newbridge on rampage

Patrician Newbridge oozed class as they romped to victory at Portmarnock.

The hosts struggled against a mobile Newbridge outfit, whose work rate in attack was particularly impressive.

They were also solid in defence, with corner-backs Alan Scully and Tom Kelly excelling.

After midfielders Ryan Moore and Adam Burke landed early points, Ronan Fitzgibbon's accurate free-taking and a fine goal from Ryan Houlihan helped Newbridge to a 1-8 to 0-1 lead at the break.

Portmarnock briefly rallied with a series of frees from Denis Redmond, but further goals from Donal Dempsey, Cian McConnell and Liam McDermott underlined Newbridge's dominance.
