MAYO star Cillian O'Connor will miss his county's next game against Roscommon after sustaining a dislocated shoulder while on club duty over the weekend, writes DONNCHADH BOYLE.
The current Young Footballer of the Year suffered the injury during Ballintubber's SFC clash with Claremorris early in the second half and he was subsequently treated in Mayo General Hospital in Castlebar.
O'Connor (above) suffered the injury to the same shoulder he dislocated while in action for the club last September and he will undergo further testing on Thursday.
"While the initial diagnosis is that Cillian has suffered a dislocated shoulder to a similar injury suffered last year, more assessment is needed," read a statment from the Mayo county board. "Cillian will undergo a further scan next Thursday and will meet with the specialists then to determine the extent of the injury."
