Minor football final preview
HAVING won the Connacht title and looked impressive in the All-Ireland series, Mayo are justifiable favourites to end a 28-year wait at Croke Park tomorrow (1.15), but Tyrone's record at minor level is formidable.
The Westerners have scored 14 goals in five championship games but will face a sweeper against the beaten Ulster finalists. They will pay particular attention to free-scoring full-forward Liam Irwin and goalscoring ace Tommy Conroy.
With Mickey Donnelly's nous on the sideline, Conor McKenna up front, and the weight of all of those lost finals weighing on Mayo's shoulders, a closer contest than the bookies suggest could be on the cards.
Odds: Mayo 4/9, Tyrone 5/2, Draw 15/2
