Miller steadies ship to keepTipperary at bay

Laois withstood a determined Tipperary comeback to claim a two-point win in their NFL Division 2 clash at Portlaoise last night.

The hosts led by 1-9 to 0-2 at half time following a 27th-minute MJ Tierney goal, but they were placed on the backfoot on the restart.

Philip Austin snatched a 57th-minute goal for the visitors, but Laois regained their composure late on as points from Brendan Quigley and Donal Miller ensured the hosts claimed victory.
