McCarthy aims to keep double dream alive in semi-finals

Recently-crowned All-Ireland 60x30 senior singles handball champion Robbie McCarthy hopes to keep his successful run going in the senior doubles semi-final.

McCarthy and partner John O'Shaughnessy, face a tough task, however, in the form of reigning champions Brian Carroll and Tom Sheridan of Meath.

Veteran left-hander Sheridan sensationally returned for this championship, having announced his intention to retire prior to last year's final and his presence could be enough to tip the scales in favour of the Kells duo.

In the second semi-final, experienced Mayo pair Dessie Keegan and Joe McCann start as favourites against Roscommon's Damien Martin and Rikki O'Gara.

Cork sensation Catriona Casey puts her M Donnelly All-Ireland 60x30 senior singles title on the line against Kerry's Maria Daly.

Ballydesmond star Casey (19) enters as favourite against the 27-year-old Kingdom right-hander.
