Maguire breaks the deadlock
Longwood (meath) 0-11
St Mochta's (louth) 0-10
Leinster club JFC final replay
After 80 minutes failed to separate the sides seven days previously, it was no real surprise that a single point would finally settle the issue in an entertaining game.
Longwood were playing catch-up in the opening quarter and a penalty miss from Rory Maguire before the break left St Mochta's 0-5 to 0-4 ahead at the interval.
The second half followed a similar pattern as points from Maguire (two) and Aaron Ennis were cancelled out by frees from Declan Byrne, but disaster struck for the home side when Gary Connolly picked up a second yellow card in the 45th minute.
Longwood took advantage and three points on from Michael Weir, Maguire and Karl Ennis saw them take the lead for the first time.
Byrne kept Mochta's in with a fighting chance but as the clock ticked into injury-time, Maguire kicked the all-important score.
Longwood held on in injury-time, during which Mochta's Gervaise Marron and Longwood captain Michael Stoney Burke followed Connolly for an early shower.
