PETER Fitzpatrick will head to the polls in buoyant mood on Friday after his Louth side moved joint top of the table with a hard-fought home win over Tipperary in Drogheda.
The Fine Gael candidate had All Star Paddy Keenan to thank for a late reprieve as the midfielder fired over two superb points to give his side a one-point lead before Mark Brennan finished the job with just over two minutes left.
The home team joined Wexford at the summit ahead of their tussle in Wexford Park next Sunday.
