Limerick earn kingdom date

Limerick's 'reward' for qualifying for the All-Ireland football championship quarter-finals for the first time is another date with Kerry, writes COLM KEYS.

While Maurice Horan's side have improved considerably since they lost by 11 points to the same opposition in a Munster semi-final on June 4 -- they have beaten Offaly, Waterford and Wexford since -- the Kingdom will be hot favourites to reach the last four.

The tie of the round is arguably the meeting of Donegal and Kildare.

Dublin will have an extra week to prepare before they play Tyrone or Roscommon, who will meet in the outstanding fourth-round qualifier this weekend, most likely at Croke Park on Saturday before one of the three other quarter-finals.

The times and venues for the games will be announced today.
