Leinster set January finals
The end of January will be busier than normal on the GAA calendar after the Leinster Council fixed both their postponed provincial finals yesterday, WRITES Colm Keys.
The football decider between Kilmacud Crokes and Rhode will go ahead on Sunday, January 23 at O'Moore Park in Portlaoise.
The hurling final between O'Loughlin Gaels, of Kilkenny, and Wexford champions Oulart-the Ballagh, which has been lost to the weather three times, will now take place on Sunday, January 30 at Dr Cullen Park. Both games will throw in at 2.0 and extra-time will be played if necessary.
The Leinster Council has refixed its intermediate and junior club finals for this weekend, despite the prospect of further snowfall over the coming days.
In Munster, a new date will be set for the club football final between Nemo Rangers and Dr Crokes, which was put off for a third time on Saturday. It now looks likely that it will be played at the end of January despite Nemo's request for a February date.
