Kerry-Tyrone spat leaves a nasty taste
The running verbal and other battles between Tyrone and Kerry over the past few years, culminating in recent spitting allegations, will leave many GAA people sad rather than angry.
Here we have two of the best teams in Ireland over the past decade who should be content to share their glorious All-Ireland records with a genuine sense of achievement; instead a nasty streak has developed, which leaves a sour taste in the mouth.
Over the years, the GAA has managed to largely avoid such nastiness, so there is an onus on both counties to end the hostilities and resume the camaraderie that normally exists between rivals.
The forthcoming National League game seems an ideal opportunity to start resuming friendly relations.
