Kavanagh worry for Longford
Galway 1-9 Longford 0-12
Longford could be without key forward Brian Kavanagh for their league opener against Roscommon after he picked up a hamstring injury.
Kavanagh lasted just 18 minutes of this challenge match at the Connacht GAA Centre in Bekan on Saturday, but kicked two splendid points before he was forced out of the action.
"Hopefully, we'll get him right and he might be fine for Sunday," said manager Jack Sheedy.
Galway, in a game played over four 20-minute quarters that was temporarily halted due to a lightening and hail storm, struggled to cope with the conditions and Longford's impressive movement.
Galway needed a late leveller from Mark Hehir to clinch a draw.
