DUBLIN City University continued their excellent form when they recorded a very comprehensive and impressive 0-16 to 0-8 win over a poor Offaly side in Tullamore yesterday afternoon.
The students controlled every sector of the field and were not flattered in the slightest by their big win.
Indeed, a measure of their complete superiority is provided by the fact that the loss of influential full-forward Donal Shine to a straight red card seven minutes into the second half didn't knock them out of their collective stride in the slightest.
For Offaly, this was a sobering experience. They were atrocious and were miles behind the visitors in terms of fitness and pace.
From an early stage, DCU stamped their authority on proceedings and only some terrible misses -- including a missed penalty from Shine prior to his sending-off -- kept them in Offaly's sights.
the students still did enough to lead by 0-7 to 0-3 at half-time, however, and in the second half they quickly put the issue beyond doubt with a string of lovely points ensuring a comfortable victory.
