Hotshot Hayes leads Cavan fightback

Cavan secured their place in the semi-finals with a one-point win in Clones.

The sides were level five times. Cavan dominated the early stages, with Ben Kiernan slotting over two frees and Pierce Smith landing a good point.

A goal from Sean Keenan in the 21st minute breathed life into Fermanagh's challenge. Midfielder Eoin McManus then banged over a '45' and a free to nudge them ahead, but two points from Tom Hayes left it level 1-2 to 0-5 at the break.

Kevin Curran got a second goal early in the second half, only for Cavan to hit back with points from Harry O'Neill, Hayes and Conor Bradley, and the Breffni men kept their noses in front.
