Horgan treble tears Treaty men to pieces

Conor Horgan scored all Cork's goals as they trounced Limerick at the Gaelic Grounds.

His third was from a penalty in the second half, and his two first-half strikes were superbly taken. On both occasions full-forward Killian O'Connor swept round a defender and each time his pinpoint pass was blasted to the net by Horgan.

By half-time, Cork led 2-8 to a solitary point by Limerick from Sean Barrett. Cork's dominance was such that they could afford nine first-half wides compared to only two missed chances by Limerick. Their best spell came early in the second half when they had three points in a row, two of them by Robbie Burke, but midway through the half Horgan's penalty put Cork out of sight.
