TIPPERARY came good in the second half at Sean Treacy Park to set up a quarter-final showdown with Waterford next Sunday.
A run of seven unanswered points after the break provided the platform for victory against a spirited University of Limerick outfit, for whom Tipperary's Philip Austin was outstanding.
Tipp manager John Evans, who fielded new players Lorcan Egan and Dara Dwyer in the half-back line, will have been particularly pleased by the scoring spread, with eight different players on target.
Barry Grogan collected five points from play, and was also the creator of Tipperary's two first-half goals as Tipp led 2-4 to 0-9 at the break -- Stephen Hahessy and Brian Mulvihill hitting the net.
