Gormley proves key
Conor Gormley inspired Carrickmore to a comeback win over Omagh at Pomeroy yesterday.
They trailed by four points at half-time, but picked off the scores that broke Omagh's resolve, with Kevin McNally grabbing the winning point in stoppage time. Ronan O'Neill tormented Carrickmore early on, hitting two superb scores. Conor O'Donnell also hit two points, with McNally's free the only Carrickmore response in the opening 16 minutes.
Gormley and Finbar Magill were on target for Carrickmore, but O'Neill and Cathal McCarron sent Omagh in with a 0-7 to 0-3 lead at the break.
Dean O'Neill scored Omagh's sole second-half point, while Carrickmore patiently chipped away. McNally and Barry Daly found the target, and it was Gormley who brought the sides level with a minute to play. In stoppage time Gormley then offloaded to McNally for a composed finish.
