Galvin in race for fitness

Limerick football manager Maurice Horan faces an anxious wait to see if his star midfielder John Galvin will be fit for the Munster championship semi-final against either Kerry or Tipperary.

Galvin suffered a major knee injury in a challenge against Down last Sunday and his doctor is awaiting results of an MRI scan.

Meanwhile, Galvin's Croom clubmate Stephen Lucey continues to receive treatment for a shoulder problem but is expected to be fit for the semi-final, due to be played at the Gaelic Grounds.
