All-Ireland JFC semi-final

(extra-time if necessary)

Kerry v Cavan, Nenagh, 3.30,

J Curley (Meath)

Kerry were convincing winners in their Munster final clash against Clare, with David O'Callaghan finding the net twice as they ran in 3-18 over the course of the hour.

Cavan are managed by senior boss Terry Hyland and he likes to use this competition as a breeding ground for the senior side. They beat a fancied Kildare side in the Leinster final and they could strike a blow for Cavan football here.

Verdict: Cavan

All-Ireland MHC semi-final

(extra-time if necessary)

Clare v Dublin, Croke Park, 1.30,

D Hughes (Carlow) *Live Rte 1

Clare missed out on a third Munster minor title in a row when they were ousted by Tipperary, but were much too strong for Down in the quarter-final with Bobby Duggan and Shane O'Donnell their main men up front.

Dublin boast a couple of dual players like Cormac Costello and Eric Lowndes and were impressive winners of the Leinster minor title. With Paul Winters in good scoring form, the Dubs can reach back-to-back minor finals.

Odds: Clare 4/5, Dublin 5/4, Draw 8/1

Verdict: Dublin
