After a tightly contested first half ended with Kildare just a point ahead, the hosts ran away with the game in the second period in Newbridge on Saturday.
Kildare were 0-7 to 0-6 up at the break, but the second half was all about Wayne Fitzpatrick who scored 2-4.
Fitzpatrick's first goal came five minutes after the break when he collected a pass from Paddy Brophy and drove a low left-footed shot past Mick O'Toole.
O'Toole was picking the ball out of his net again 10 minutes later, this time it was Paschal Connell who wasn't picked up close to goal and he finished well. It was all too easy for Kildare and Fitzpatrick added his second goal three minutes from the end with another left-footed shot to cap the victory.
