Fitting tribute to Earley
The legacy of the great Dermot Earley Snr lives on. The underage academy in the Sarsfields club in Newbridge is being renamed in his honour, with the ceremony taking place next Saturday (4.30).
GAA president Liam O'Neill will perform the unveiling and formally announce a partnership between Sarsfields and Newbridge Medical and Dental, the new sponsors of the academy. Dermot was a leading figure behind the development of the academy in 1982, an initiative which has proved hugely beneficial to Sarsfields.
John Doyle, who leads Kildare into a championship campaign where Lilywhite hopes are extremely high, will also be among the guests.
