Tyrone cruised through a one-sided Ulster MFC preliminary round clash at Healy Park.

And they have just a week to prepare for a repeat of the 2013 provincial decider, which they lost to Monaghan.

Tyrone were dominant for the opening 40 minutes, and led by 15 points before conceding two late goals. They have injury concerns over key attackers Conor McKenna and Lee Brennan ahead of next Sunday's Athletic Grounds clash.

The Red Hands dominated from the start, with six players on the scoresheet in the opening half.

Brennan helped himself to four points, and with Ronan Nugent and Macauley Quinn providing a platform from midfield, they swamped the Mourne defence with waves of attacks.

Ryan Treanor and Frank Aiken pulled back points, but they leaked scores at the other end to McKenna, Pauric McAnenly and Fintan McClure, whose goal on the half-hour sent the home side in with a 1-11 to 0-3 interval lead.

Tyrone stretched the advantage to 15, but Down pulled back a goal from a Tiarnan Rushe penalty. Tyrone then went 13 minutes without a score until midfielder Quinn landed his second point. And they conceded a second goal in stoppage-time when Stephen McConville netted, after Treanor's shot had come back off a post.
