Exiles off to perfect start

LONDON produced a first-half blitz at Ruislip to get their campaign off to a perfect start at the expense of hapless Kilkenny.

The home side, under the new management of Paul Coggins, made the most of the elements in the first half and led by 0-13 to no score at the break.

Things improved slightly for Kilkenny after the break and in the second minute, Declan Garvey opened his side's account when he flicked an incoming free over the bar.

However, all too often Kilkenny wasted opportunities, while London's Stevie Boyle and Noel Tuohy worked tirelessly to make sure their side's lead was maintained.
