MONAGHAN will face Cork in the All-Ireland final at Croke Park on September 25 after securing a thrilling victory over Kerry in Birr.
It was the second successive year for the Kingdom to lose out at this stage.
The beaten Munster finalists produced a gritty performance and came from eight points down in the first half to lead twice in the second period.
However, Monaghan hit 2-5 without reply in a devastating 15-minute spell to take hold of proceedings, as Kerry lost Aisling Desmond to the sin-bin for 10 minutes.
And the Farney girls, who led by 2-7 to 0-8 at half-time, had little difficulty closing out the game.
The winners scored 4-11 from play in an impressive attacking display, but it was captain Sharon Courtney who claimed the Player of the match award on the back of a powerhouse display at full-back.
