Courtney helps Michael's prevail

Ten years after their last success, St Michael's Enniskillen won this competition for the sixth time at the Morgan Athletic Grounds in Armagh after a superb second-half display.

The Derry lads had led 1-3 to 0-2 at the break, with their goal coming from Gerald Bradley, but they were to add just one point in the second period as they hit 14 wides over the 60 minutes.

Eddie Courtney opened the second-half scoring and despite losing Liam Martin to a second yellow, St Michael's were in front with 10 minutes to go with Courtney hitting three frees.

Courtney then landed a massive score from 50 metres out to put the seal on the victory. "It was a tremendous second-half performance," said St Michael's manager Dominic Corrigan. "I had confidence at half-time and I would have been disappointed if we hadn't kicked on, and thankfully the boys did."
