Coen seals promotion

TEARS flowed in Ardfinnan as Tipperary dramatically clinched promotion from Division 4 with a hard-fought victory over Wicklow.

It was a hugely emotional afternoon as a hungry Tipperary team, still reeling from the recent tragic death of Darrel Darcy, rallied superbly with 14 men to grind out the win.

Barry Grogan was shown a straight red following an altercation with Ciaran Hyland, who was booked.

In Grogan's absence, Fethard clubman Brian Coen contributed 10 points, including three fine scores from play.
