Chriost Ri strike late

CORK giants Colaiste Chriost Ri needed two late points from Ciaran Dalton and Shane O'Keeffe to see off Colaiste na Sceilge of Kerry in an epic tussle in Rathmore.

Driven on by impressive centre-back Michael O'Connor, the Kerry side pulled a point back through Morgan O'Donoghue, but their heroic effort came up just short.

Chriost Ri looked the better team in the first half and racked up scores through Conor Horgan (two), Shane O'Keeffe and Cork minor Luke Connolly (two), but six wides meant that they turned around on level terms.

Ciaran Keating (0-2), Kieran O'Driscoll, Michael Keating and Morgan O'Donoghue found their range for na Sceilge in the first half and although the Kerry side competed a lot better in the second period, they were undone by bad wides and those two late Colaiste Chriost Ri points.
