Cavanagh returns to action
Tyrone star Sean Cavanagh made a surprise return to action last night, several months ahead of schedule.
Cavanagh underwent surgery on a shoulder injury in May and had been expected to be out for another four months. But he played for Moy in an intermediate championship tie against Derrytresk.
The former Footballer of the Year came on as a substitute early in the second half at Edendork.
Derrytresk were also the opponents in the league game in which Cavanagh suffered the injury, a detached tendon. An identical injury on the other shoulder saw the three-time All-Ireland winner miss the entire 2010 season.
Elsewhere, it's been reported that athletics coach and Derry native Malcolm McCausland is Armagh's new fitness trainer after accepting an invitation from recently appointed Orchard boss Paul Grimley.
Meanwhile, Dublin minor hurling boss Shay Boland has kept faith with the team that beat Wexford in the Leinster final and has named an unchanged 15 for their All-Ireland MHC semi-final clash with Clare.
Dublin (MHC v Clare) -- C Mac Gabhann; S Barrett, C O'Callaghan, E Lowndes; E O'Donnell, R Murphy, S McClelland; C Costello, C Cronin; C McHugh, S Treacy, C Conway; O O'Rourke, C Boland, P Winters.
