PETER Canavan got his inter-county managerial career off to a perfect start as his Fermanagh side, inspired by Seamus Quigley, saw off Antrim by eight points in front a bumper crowd at Brewster Park, Enniskillen.
Quigley's volleyed goal put the icing on the cake with five minutes remaining. He also hit eight points, five from frees, over the course of the 70 minutes.
The home side were four points up inside the first 10 minutes thanks to a Paul Ward goal and a point, before Conal Kelly hit back with a goal for the Saffrons.
Quigley then fired over three points for the Erne men.
Michael Magill scored two excellent scores in reply for Antrim, but Liam Bradley's men never really carried a threat in the first half.
Antrim got within three points of the winners in the second half. But when Michael McCann was sent off for Antrim with 15 minutes remaining, Fermanagh went on to win easily.
