Armstrong injury blow

Galway attacker Sean Armstrong could miss the rest of the league campaign after picking up a hamstring injury in Saturday's defeat to Cork.

The forward, who skippered the side against Cork as part of Joe Kernan's captaincy rotation, is waiting to establish the extent of the injury. Kernan said that the loss of Armstrong was a big blow in the 1-19 to 1-17 loss.

"I was very happy with how we started but once Sean got injured we seemed to lose our shape," the manager explained. "We have to wait 48 hours to see, but it is a hamstring tear and he could be out for anything between three and seven weeks."
