Antrim march on
Antrim 2-14 Offaly 1-8
Antrim maintained their 100 per cent record in Division 3 with a fine victory over 13-man Offaly at Casement Park last night.
When Shane Sullivan received a straight red for abusive language to an official on 27 minutes, Antrim were already four points ahead.
Although the hosts had begun to turn the screw by the time Sullivan saw red, his dismissal hastened the visitors' fate. This fate was sealed just after the restart when Tomas McCann fired in a goal.
Ken Casey notched the first of four unanswered scores for the visitors but Nigel Dunne was the scorer-in-chief as Offaly edged 0-4 to 0-2 ahead on the quarter-hour mark.
Brian Neeson and Conal Kelly both scored for the home side with Dunne replying to tie the scores at 0-6 apiece.
Paddy Cunningham goaled and Tony Scullion put Antrim four ahead just before Sullivan's red card. Antrim had a 1-8 to 0-6 lead at the break.
McCann put the game beyond doubt with the game's second goal, and although Offaly replied with a Dunne major, they lost Anton Sullivan to a second yellow as the Saffrons pulled away.
