Cork's Patrick Horgan free to play against the Cats after red card lifted
Cork full-forward Patrick Horgan has had the red card he received in last weekend's Munster final against Limerick rescinded and will be free to take on Kilkenny next week.
Horgan was sent-off in first half injury time last week for striking Limerick wing-back Paudie O'Brien on the helmet.
The Rebels confirmed today that they had successfully appealed the red. In a statement, the Cork County Board said: "Following a hearing, Cork's Patrick Horgan will be available for selection for teh All-Ireland Quarter-final against Kilkenny next Sunday."
Horgan travelled to Croke Park for the disciplinary hearing and argued that the incident leading to the dismissal was accidental.
