In the back end of 1987, I ended up in Anaheim Stadium in Orange County, California watching the LA Rams play. I made further journeys to watch their cross-town rivals, the LA Raiders, play in the Coliseum.

The Raiders had Marcus Allen and Bo Jackson ('Bo knows football') in their backfield. It was a little bit too crowded having two superstar running backs trying to rein in their egos. Truth is, the Raiders were just as shite as the Ramshackle Rams.

What drew me to Anaheim that day was their visitors. The all-singing, all-dancing San Francisco 49ers coached by the inestimable Bill Walsh, playing their sweet west coast offence. They were just a tad awesome.
