Coleman delivers as Dungannon boys march on

St Pat's, Dungannon 3-11 St Paul's, Bessbrook 1-10

St Patrick's Academy Dungannon upset the odds last night with a fully merited win over a fancied St.Paul's Bessbrook side at the Athletic Grounds in Armagh to qualify for the Danske Bank MacRory Cup Final.

The winners were full value for their victory and they laid the foundations for it in the first half as they established a 3-8 to 1-3 lead. Centre half forward Daniel Kerr had the ball in the net after only thirty seconds and while Shea Hoey levelled matters the winners then took control.

Cormac O'Hagan converted a penalty with Ryan Coleman also finding the net while there were points from Liam Rafferty, O'Hagan and team Captain Fintan McClure. Jody McGovern and Miceal McNamee replied for Bessbrook but their situation could have been worse as Stephen Corr and Mark Donnelly both had goals disallowed for Dungannon for square ball infringements.

The winners defended as though their lives depended on it in the second half and when they came forward they always looked dangerous with Coleman cutting in twice from the left wing to point.
