Clonmel date for Argocat
Argocat is set to make his first appearance of the season at Clonmel on Thursday ahead of his main spring target at Aintree in April.
Tom Taaffe's charge was third behind Silviniaco Conti in the Betfred Bowl Chase last spring and that Grade One contest is again the objective.
Argocat cut no ice in the Punchestown Gold Cup won by Boston Bob on his only subsequent start and will make his comeback in the Munster Hurdle over two miles three and a half furlongs.
"Argocat will run over hurdles at Clonmel on Thursday and he will probably have another run after that before going to Aintree for the Betfred Bowl," said the County Kildare trainer.
Taaffe is aiming Gold Bullet at one of the handicaps at the Cheltenham Festival after being pleased with the seven-year-old's third place behind Los Amigos at Fairyhouse at the end of last month.
"I was very happy with Gold Bullet at Fairyhouse and he came out of the race well," he said.
"He will go for one of the handicaps at Cheltenham now. We will wait until the weights come out before deciding which one to go for."
