The Davidson Cup is the major CBAI pairs championship and was played last weekend.

Now here's a question.

We currently have 24 Grand Masters in the CBAI. How many of them played in the Davidson? Even I was surprised with the answer. It is two! Why is a good question.

City North Hotel is the venue for the Lady Milne Trophy this coming weekend when we have two teams in action for the annual ladies home international championship.

On then to Galway for the 81st congress at the Ardilaun Hotel: Mixed Pairs on Good Friday; Congress Pairs on Saturday at 1.30; Swiss Pairs on Easter Sunday and Teams at 10.30 on the final day.

Pre-empts can be a nuisance. Take this one. What does South do? And you can't touch the Grand Slam, so what can N do? What would 4H mean and 7H also makes, but that 3D opening makes life very difficult. I would bid 4D by North showing a control and the majors.
