Baby joy for Ruby Walsh as Gillian gives birth during the Grand National
He may have missed the greatest race in the world but jockey Ruby Walsh did get to savour one of the greatest moments of his life after his wife gave birth to baby girl Gemma on Saturday afternoon.
The bouncing baby girl, who weighed-in at 8lb 12oz, arrived at 2pm on Saturday a little over two hours before her daddy should have been saddling up in Aintree had it not been for the arm injury he suffered at Cheltenham.
It's a third daughter for one of Ireland's most recognisable sporting couples who have already been blessed with daughters Isabelle and Elsa.
It's been an amazing weekend for community of Calverstown in co Kildare, where Ruby now resides, after Leighton Aspell's incredible Grand National success aboard Pineau De Re.
The 37-year-old was raised in the nearby townland of Blackhall.
