Arsene Wenger says it will be a 'miracle' if Manchester City fail to win the title

Arsene Wenger says that it will be a "miracle" if Manchester City fail to win the Premier League this season.

City need just a point to secure the title, after their comprehensive 4-0 victory over Aston Villa on Wednesday night. Liverpool, who drew 3-3 at Crystal Palace on Monday, sit two points behind but have a vastly inferior goal difference.

"It's been a very interesting title race. You feel Liverpool were very unlucky because they had a fantastic second half of the season," said the Frenchman.

"It will be a miracle if Man City don't win the league now and congratulations to them."

While the Gunners will finish fourth yet again, and take on Hull City in the FA Cup final on 17 May, the season has ended in despair for Wenger's side. They had been top for 128 days in the division this season, more than any other team. Wenger says that is his team's away form which has dented their title bid.

Arsenal are unbeaten in their last 18 Premier League home matches this season, but have only won two out of their last seven away. They have also suffered heavy defeats to their title rivals in away matches this season, losing 6-0 at Chelsea, 5-1 at Liverpool and 6-3 at Manchester City.

"We have been top 128 days," he said. "But we failed in some big games in away from home."
