EPIC attractions

Just across the river from Grand Canal Dock is one of the country’s most exciting new museums, EPIC Ireland. The Irish Emigration Museum charts the journey of millions of emigrants who left these shores and the story of how the Irish diaspora made their mark on the world. The exhibition which opened in 2016 is made up of 20 interactive galleries. The attraction was designed by the award winning team behind the Titanic Experience in Belfast. The Family History Centre, known for tracing President Obama’s family tree in Moneygall, is next door where experts can help you uncover your very own family mysteries. If it’s good enough for Barack!

Drinks with a difference

Dublin is known for its nightlife but down in Grand Canal Dock, they do drinks with a difference. Atop the Marker Hotel is a rooftop bar where you can take in unrivalled views of Dublin while you enjoy a tipple from the hotel’s extensive cocktail list. Don’t miss the Seasonal Sips section of their menu for something out of the ordinary. There is nowhere better in the city to unwind with a drink beneath the stars. From high rise to the high seas, the MV Cill Airne boat is docked on the Liffey and you can climb on-board for a truly unique drinking experience in the city. The boat has been fully restored to a fully functional bar and restaurant. Take your pint out on deck to watch the sunset on the Dublin skyline.

Urban unwind

The spa at the Marker Hotel is like escaping to another world – you will barely believe you are in the middle of Dublin city in this urban oasis. Guests have access to the wellness space which features not only a Jacuzzi, steam room and sauna but also a 23 metre long infinity pool for a dip between treatments. On top of all that, their treatments are award winning from Lava Shell full body massages to luxurious SkinCeuticals facials - advanced skin care backed by science. The spa offers a wide range of cutting-edge treatments, the only difficult part is deciding what to book! Finish off your relaxation session by chilling out in one of the spa’s cocoons which are suspended from the ceiling.

The best of brunch

Thanks to counting some of the world’s tech giants as your neighbours, Grand Canal Dock has some of the hippest new eateries in Dublin. The area has really made a name for itself as the brunch capital of Dublin. Herbstreet on Hanover Quay serves up brunch classics like French toast and pancakes but the star of the menu is their full Irish – sure to cure any sore head! Looking for something on the go? Grab a coffee at 3fe: this spot brews Ireland’s best coffee and certainly cannot be missed. Take your coffee and sit in Grand Canal Square, fast becoming one of the most iconic views in the city. Having a Sunday morning sleep in? Drop into The Marker's Brasserie restaurant for "Le Drunch" between 2pm and 5pm: it's the later alternative to brunch that is all the rage in Paris!

Oh my Gáis

The attraction that Grand Canal Dock has become synonymous with: the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre. This venue hosts the best touring productions from both Broadway and the West End as well as world-class music acts. The programme for this year includes shows like Blood Brothers and Evita as well as Irish favourites The Cranberries and legends the Beach Boys. After something a bit different? The RTÉ Concert Orchestra play live accompaniments to classic films with legendary film composer David Arnold conducting the orchestra to relive his movie masterpieces on May 19 and a performance Independence Day is set for May 20. Make sure to take a moment to admire the building itself – you won’t see architecture like this anywhere else!

Extraordinary, surprising and luxurious, The Marker Hotel is the perfect urban retreat for those who crave the unconventional, yet still expect the exceptional standards of service that are the signature of a member of The Leading Hotels of the World®. Rising up from the rich urban heartland of the Dublin Docklands, our hotel slots seamlessly into one of the most vibrant cultural hubs of Dublin City.
