City traders in line for rates hike at twice inflation level

DUBLIN city's businesses are to be stung with a rise in commercial rates which will be more than double the rate of inflation. The Corporation's draft estimates for next year show that the local authority wants to increase rates by 3.2pc to bring in a total of £104m.If the councillors approve the figures, it will mean businesses will be paying an increase above the rate of inflation for the fourteenth year in a row.
