There was a great turnout for a St Stephen's Day run in Tinahely in support of a worthwhile local cause.

Around 100 people took part in the 7k event, organised by the Tinahely Tri Club. Participants could either walk or run the scenic route starting from the railway car park before crossing the finish line at the Dying Cow pub. Conditions on the day were described as ideal and the great weather added to the atsmosphere.

The run was in aid of the Tinahely Community First Responders and over €1,150 was raised for this life-saving service. Afterwards, participants enjoyed some light refreshments in the Dying Cow pub.

Thanks were extended to the Tinahely community for coming out in droves to support the fundraising walk. Organisers also thanked members of the Tinahely Tri Club who helped out on the day and the Dying Cow for providing refreshments.

It is hoped that the proceeds will be presented to the Tinahely Community First Responders in the coming weeks.
