Tinahely GAA Juvenile Club held their presentation night recently in a well decorated community hall with red and white flags and bunting brightening up the hall.

The guest of honour was the Wicklow Senior football manager John Evans. Also in attendance was County Chairman Martin Fitzgerald, Coiste na n'Óg Chairman Pat Dunne along with club Chairman Coleman O'Byrne.

Medals were presented to the boys and girls who took part in the academy followed by the under-7 and the under-9 Go Games teams.

The under-11 hurling and football teams were up next with both teams winning their mini festival finals last September.

The last presentation of medals was for the under-17 football team who won the Division 1 football league.

MC for the night was Tinahely's new juvenile Chairman Stephen Hickey and, after welcoming everybody, he thanked all who made the night special for the young players of the future. He also thanked the ladies in the kitchen and invited all to refreshments after the speeches and invited Pat, Martin and John to say a few words. Martin Fitzgerald thanked all the players who are on county squads for their efforts and hopefully some of the lads could be part of a county team that could change our fortunes. John Evans spoke to the players and thanked the parents for supporting the young players. The coaches who give up their time with the teams were also thanked.

The future is bright for Tinahely.
