County U-15 squad get a visit from FAI party ahead of Macron Cup

The FAI delegation were out last Thursday visiting the WDSL U-15 county squad as they trained in Coolboy Community Grounds in preparation for there participation in the Macron Cup in Galway which will take place August 7 to 11.

This tournament is being hosted by Salthill Devon and is run over four days with at least a game per day.

The squad have been very busy over the last few weeks training and working on their strength and conditioning. You may have seen them on the streets them out fundraising in both Wicklow and Arklow town and they will be out again on Saturday 27th in both locations with buckets doing one last push for fundraising – times for this are Wicklow Town 11am to 1pm and Arklow from 4pm to 6pm.

They are entering the final preparation period over the next week and a half with some friendly matches a last few training sessions.

The group that Wicklow have been drawn in contains the hosts Salthill Devon and Roscommon. The Salthill Devon game is on Wednesday and the Roscommon game on the Thursday. It will depend on the results from these two games who they move forward to play on the Friday and Saturday.
