Wicklow girls thrive at U-14 camogie School of Excellence in Carlow

Wicklow's U-14s Camogie School of Excellence girls took part in Carlow's inter-county blitz last weekend.

31 girls travelled and everybody played. The girls in this group are having a great summer of camogie and gaining greatly from their involvement.

In the Carlow blitz, Wicklow were based in the O'Hanrahan's GAA grounds and played all their group matches there.

After matches against Laois, Carlow and Kildare they played the 'B' Final against Kildare in the Dr Cullen Park's outside pitch. All the group matches were close and the final proved to be the closest of all.

After a great battle, Wicklow lost out on the closest of scores: Kildare 4-0, Wicklow 3-0. A great day out and a wonderful experience for all the girls especially those who have joined the group since the last blitz in Portlaoise and were wearing the Wicklow jersey for the first time. The Wicklow camogie board wish to thank to Carlow for organising a great blitz.

Congratulations girls! Keep up the good work. The next blitz is in Portlaoise again on August 18.
