Wicklow duo are U-8 Latin and Ballroom dance champs

THERE WAS success for the Glenealy based Wicklow Latin Group as Max Bonici and Naoise O'Neill became the Under-8 Irish champions in both Ballroom and Latin dance.

The Republic of Ireland Ballroom and Latin Championship took place in the Dolmen Hotel in Carlow and the Wicklow Latin Group returned home with a total of 28 trophies and medals.

The title of Under 8 couple Ballroom and Latin champions was won by five year old Max and six year old Naoise. The pair have been dancing together since January 2011 and entertained the crowd in the Dolmen Hotel with their Waltz, Quickstep, Cha Cha and Samba. Most of the 11 competitors from Wicklow Latin Dance have only been dancing for 7 months. The youngest competitor was Joshua Bonici aged 3 years who came home with 2 medals in Cha Cha and Waltz.

Wicklow Latin Dance has rapidly became one of the larger ballroom dance schools in Ireland since establishing in 2009. They are teaching more than 100 people per week in total across all their classes which include Ballroom and Latin dancing for adults, children from 3 upwards and their unique Ballroom and Latin Dancercise Fitness Classes for adults.
