It was a tense afternoon an evening in Arklow Rugby Club on Saturday night as members gathered for two highly anticipated events at the club.

The afternoon kicked off with the thrilling Ireland v France match which had a nail biting conclusion resulting in Ireland emerging victorious.

Following the match the club's Twickenham draw was held. The club was offering one lucky winner two tickets plus a weekend stay in London for Ireland's epic clash with England.

The draw was limited to 250 people with the majority of tickets sold out.

A spokesperson for the club said that the Irish result saw a huge surge in ticket sales.

'As we all know the Ireland V France match didn't quite go as many anticipated until Jonny Sexton stepped up to send all in the club into jubilant elation... well, all except French member Paul Ben, who learned a valuable lesson about not counting his chickens before they hatch!

'Unsurprisingly the result saw a late surge in the Twickenham draw ticket sales. In the end former captain and scrum half Mark Hynes was the lucky winner. A delighted Mark was ecstatic but didn't reveal who he would be taking with him.'
