The sun shone on Arklow on Sunday as the popular annual Welly Run in aid of the RNLI took place.

Runners, walkers and joggers took part in 5k and 10k events in aid of the local lifeboat operation and there was great excitement from early morning as participants signed up at Coral Leisure.

The event was organised by Liz Bermingham of LJB Wellness and was a great success. It formed part of the nationwide May Day appeal, which raises funds for the RNLI throughout the month of May.

The Welly Run winners were as follows:  Men's 5K Padraic Bermingham, Ladies' 5k Aoife Tunney, Men's 10k Paul Gibbons, Ladies' 10k Kathleen Forde, Emergency Services Winner: Arklow Fire Brigade. Well done to all who took part and supported the event.
