The glorious sunshine last Sunday afternoon brought the crowds to the Ardeen Cheshire Home's Annual Fete.

The event, which returned in 2018 after a break of several years, raised over €5,000 for the Shillelagh facility which provides a range of support services to people with both physical and neurological conditions.

There were numerous stalls on the day including bric-a-brac, a wheel of fortune, crochet and knitwear stalls, a fortune teller and a bottle stall. The afternoon offered something for the whole family with a puppet show and a children's area to entertain the younger visitors. The crowds also enjoyed performances from Dancing with Declan and music was provided by DJ Pat Fleming.

The organisers said they were delighted with the support from the local community and hope to run the fete again. There are plans for the annual event to be even bigger and better next year. Thanks were also extended to the sponsors and volunteers for their help and support. They also thanked anyone who made a donation.

Ardeen Cheshire Home is run by Cheshire Ireland which provides a range of support services to people with both physical and neurological conditions in their homes, residential centres, supported accommodation and in stand-alone respite facilities. The Shillelagh facility, which opened nearly 50 years ago, was their first centre in the country.
