Sun shines for finals day at Wicklow Tennis Club
The finals of the Sinnott Skoda Senior Club Championships took place in glorious sunshine at Wicklow Tennis Club.
Members and visitors who came along to watch the tennis were not disappointed, with some encounters extending to three set matches.
The finals started at 2 p.m. and finally finished up at around 11 p.m. followed by the prize giving ceremony. Sponsor John Sinnott of Sinnott Skoda was on hand to present all the winners and runners up with their silverware and prizes.
There was a running barbecue from 4 p.m. which kept everyone going for the remainder of the day. The club has passed on its thanks to Liam Whitty, Jeff Byrne, Mark Tindale and all the young members who helped out in any way.
Club President Robert Earls congratulated all the finalists and thanked everyone for their support throughout the tournament, in particular club captain Ken O'Dwyer who ensured the players were accommodated with scheduling and spectators enjoyed some treat nights during the duration of the event.
